East Atlanta Family Fitness Center to open as fourth fitness center for the greater East Atlanta area
East Atlanta Village is getting a fitness center.
Ace Hardware, which closed last year, is slated to become a health club, according to East Atlanta Patch.
Located at 1231 Glenwood Ave., the 11,360-square-foot space had been advertised available for lease since the hardware store’s closure.
East Atlanta Patch spoke with Jim Camp of Adams Commercial Real Estate, the company marketing the property.
Camp said the fitness center will open Aug. 1 target and will be called the East Atlanta Family Fitness Center (EAFFC).
EAFFC will operate 7 days a week, will feature a child-care drop-off area, free weights, treadmills and full-circuit work-out stations.
Several readers have been in contact with us hoping for details as to what would open in the hardware store’s place, noting they’d like more restaurant options.
Considering the size of the space, a fitness center makes sense.
What are your thoughts? Does the EAV need a fitness center or would something else be better suited?
