Groundbreaking Ceremony to Launch Affordable Housing Initiative

Gorman & Company will break ground on The Fifty-Five in East Point on Friday, March 27, 2026. The project will deliver a 60-unit mixed-income, mixed-use apartment community. The development is located at 2855 East Point Street near the East Point MARTA Station.

The Fifty-Five reflects the city of East Point’s commitment to affordable, transit-oriented housing. It promises to offer resident-focused amenities and comfort once completed.

“The Fifty-Five represents the kind of intentional, community-driven development that makes a lasting impact,” said Joel Reed, Southeast Market President, Gorman & Company. “By creating new affordable housing in a multi-modal location, we’re helping ensure East Point residents can remain in the community they call home while continuing to thrive.”

Features of The Fifty-Five

The Fifty-Five will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for households earning 30% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). It will include amenities such as a fitness center and a computer lab. There will also be a community space and outdoor gathering areas to encourage connection and neighborhood engagement.
