Across The Street and its neighboring market have been closing without warning on and off since early February, according to a What Now Atlanta (WNA) tipster.
On a trip to the Old Fourth Ward space Thursday during what would have otherwise been a bustling lunch hour, WNA found the doors of the Mexican eatery and market locked shut, and not a soul in sight.
John Morrison, the property’s owner, confirmed in a telephone conversation with WNA the restaurant and market are currently closed and “probably” won’t reopen.
Morrison, who owns several pieces of real estate around town, would not comment on the closure and asked WNA to follow-up Monday to confirm if the restaurant will stay closed for good.
Across The Street has since disconnected its telephone and the company’s social media pages have gone dark.
Neighboring business owners tell WNA they saw Across The Street employees moving things out of the space, at 668 Highland Ave. NE, earlier this week.
More details as they unfold.
