great harvest bread company closes on briarcliff road ~ what now, atlanta?

Couldn’t rise to the occasion

After five years in business, cold air and old yeast is all that’s left of Great Harvest Bread Co. near Emory University.

Located at 2173 Briarcliff Rd NE, the bakery announced their closure to email subscribers yesterday, Jan. 17.

“We’ve enjoyed being your neighborhood bakery for the last five years. Unfortunately, it’s a tough business, and we have decided to close. If you have a gift card, we apologize for the inconvenience but they can be redeemed at any of the other Great Harvest bakeries.”

The shuttered location is just north of Emory University, at the corner of Briarcliff road and Lavista road in the Briar-Vista shopping center and was across the street from Whole Foods.

Unused gift cards are redeemable at other Great Harvest bakeries.

Great Harvest Bread Co. is a national franchise with locations in every state. Other locations in Georgia include Marietta (3894 Due West Rd.), Rome (606 Broad St.), Smyrna (3240 Atlanta Rd.), and Johns Creek (10305 Medlock Bridge).
