Remaining locations of the quick-service Mexican restaurant did not meet “site selection criteria for the concept.”

Ruby Tuesday, Inc., Lime Fresh Mexican Grill’s parent company, has opted to close the quick-service Mexican restaurant’s Midtown and Buckhead stores, the last two remaining Georgia locations.

Lime Fresh’s Midtown store shuttered Monday, and the quick-service Mexican restaurant’s Buckhead location closed shortly after on Tuesday.

Lime Fresh’s Midtown and Buckhead locations did not meet “site selection criteria for the concept,” according to a press release from early 2013.

Additionally, based on experience gained since our initial involvement in Lime Fresh, we have decided to close two Company-developed Lime Fresh restaurants that we have determined to be outside our updated site selection criteria for the concept. As we make these difficult decisions, we want to let the team members of these closed restaurants know that we appreciate their passion and commitment and we are working to ensure the employees affected by these planned closures are given opportunities at other Ruby Tuesday or Lime Fresh restaurants.

The quick-service Mexican restaurant’s Peachtree Hills location shuttered in January 2013 leaving Georgia completely Lime Fresh free, according to the “Lime Locator” on the restaurant’s website.

Ruby Tuesday acquired Lime Fresh for $24 million in 2012.
