Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers is continuing its expansion across Central Ohio with the acquisition of two Bowman Tire & Repair Center locations.

The St. Louis-area automotive service chain has acquired the stores of Bowman Tire & Repair Center at 2830 E. Main St. near Bexley and at 110 Burch St. in Hebron. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the company said all Bowman Tire retail employees will remain with the business.

“With the acquisition of the Bowman Tire & Repair Centers brand, Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers continues our expansion in the Columbus, Ohio market,” CEO Derek Basile said in a statement seen by the publication mentioned above.

The acquisition follows Dobbs’ recent growth in Ohio, including the opening of five locations across Columbus and Cincinnati. With the addition of the two Bowman locations, the company now operates 47 stores throughout Ohio.

Founded in 1976, Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers provides tire sales and automotive repair services for gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles. Today, the company operates more than 150 locations across eight states and employs more than 1,500 people.

Former Bowman Tire owner Jon Bowman said that finding the right successor was a priority after many years of operating the business.

Bowman stated that selecting the right successor was essential after years of growing the business, noting that Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers aligns with the company’s values and its commitment to its employees, customers, and community.

The Bowman acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic expansions for Dobbs, which has grown through a combination of acquisitions, redeveloped locations, and new store openings. Recent additions to the company’s portfolio include Automotive Super Center in Texas, Custom Complete Automotive in Missouri, Conrad’s Tire Express & Car Care in Ohio, and Wisconsin-based Matthew Tire and Schierl & Hartje Tire brands.
