The Cake House, a cannabis dispensary chain offering flower, edibles, vapes, concentrates, and pre-rolls, is preparing to open three new locations: Rancho Bernardo at 16375 Bernardo Center Drive; Sorrento Valley at 10150 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 110; and Lemon Grove at 6691 Federal Boulevard.

The company’s three new locations are awaiting final permits before opening, President Saad Pattah tells What Now San Diego. Once approvals are granted, the Sorrento Valley location is expected to open within one or two weeks, with the Rancho Bernardo and Lemon Grove stores to follow over the next couple of months. Customers can expect a selection of lab-tested cannabis products, including flower, edibles, vapes, concentrates, pre-rolls, and products from brands such as STIIIZY, Raw Garden, Kiva, Jeeter, Cannabiotix, and Wyld.

The Cake House was founded in Vista in 2021 by Saad Pattah and his son, Saad Pattah Jr., with the help of entrepreneur Daniel Wise, to create a more approachable cannabis retail experience. Since opening its first store, the company has grown into a multi-state operator with locations across California and Michigan. Pattah also tells What Now San Diego that The Cake House plans to open at least 10 additional locations in the future, continuing its rapid expansion throughout the state.

Earlier this year, The Cake House acquired 12 Cannabis 21+ licenses in a transaction valued at approximately $25 million. The acquisition included the Sorrento Valley, Mission Valley, Lemon Grove, Rancho Bernardo, and more. The company said Mission Valley will be the first location to undergo a redesign, with plans to transform it into a larger format store before updating the remaining locations.

In addition to the upcoming openings, The Cake House currently operates dispensaries in Vista, Encinitas, Point Loma, Mission Valley, Mankind, and several other California markets. The company also offers online ordering, pickup services, a rewards program, and a mobile app that provides access to live inventory, promotions, and an AI-powered budtender that helps customers find products based on their preferences.

“One big reason for our success and growth is that we have great General managers and partners in all different regions,” Pattah tells WhatNow. “We work very well with our vendors and other Dispensary owners. We are here to help the industry. [We] give our customers the best shopping experience, selection, pricing, and freshest products. We have one of the biggest menu selections in the state, possibly in the nation.”
